Out of this World: Table Design Fit for a Galaxy Far, Far Away

My mom’s birthday is coming up and she told me she didn’t want anything elaborate for her 71st. So I tried to keep myself calm as I planned things out. It didn’t work, but here’s what I did.

I started with a table setting. After all, the table has to match the majesty of the series it’s based on. My mom is the original Star Wars fan in our family. She introduced me to Empire Strikes Back when I was in second grade.

So when I went looking for the waffle maker that she had been searching for and found a Death Star waffle maker on Amazon, it was as if there was a stirring in The Force. So I ordered away and didn’t think once about table settings until the big day drew near and I realized I needed somewhere to serve my creations.

My new gem place card holders were a glittery touch with the place cards.

Thinking quickly, I got some of my table linen out and went with a navy tablecloth, a galaxy star runner, and dark blue Waterford napkins I got when I was working at the outlet. I decided one way to dress up a table was by adding some fancy napkin folds! I quickly got on YouTube and taught myself how to do this simple silverware fold (clip starts at 2:55).
